Julie’s practice focuses on employment, securities and commercial litigation. She has handled cases at every stage of the litigation process, from preliminary investigation to discovery and trial in state and federal court, as well as arbitration. Her employment litigation experience includes representation of employers in defense of claims of race, disability, age and sex discrimination, as well as claims of sexual harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge. Julie’s securities experience includes the representation of broker-dealers in defense of customer claims, including unsuitability, churning, misrepresentation and failure to supervise. In addition, she has represented clients in connection with disciplinary actions and enforcement proceedings commenced by self-regulatory agencies and state securities commissioners. Julie has also been involved in a variety of commercial cases, ranging from breach of contract to antitrust claims.

Julie received her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2000, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and was a Note and Comment Editor for the Law Review. Prior to joining SBH, Julie was an associate with Bryan Cave LLP and served on the firm’s recruiting committee.
