Seyferth Blumenthal & Harris LLC (SBH) is proud to announce that managing partner, Kim Jones, will be honored with the 2025 Beth K. Smith Award from the Women’s Employment Network (WEN). Alongside fellow award recipient Shelly Freeman, Jones will be recognized at the WEN Annual Luncheon on April 22, 2025.
The Beth K. Smith Award, named after the WEN co-founder, recognizes those who have been advocates for WEN and continue to offer leadership, mentorship and support to help women build brighter futures. Since 2017, Jones and Freeman have made incredible contributions to the organization as Legacy Circle members, a commitment which supports WEN’s strategic direction and ongoing mission to help women in Kansas City.
“Kim and Shelly embody the spirit of the Beth K. Smith Award,” WEN president Sherry Turner said. “Their leadership, generosity and belief in the potential of every woman have made an indelible mark on WEN and the women we serve. We are thrilled to recognize them for their unwavering commitment to our mission.”
WEN was founded in 1986 by Beth K. Smith and Marjorie Powell Allen with the mission of helping women raise their self-esteem and achieve economic independence through sustained employment. Since the organization’s founding, thousands of women have benefited from the organization’s programs, services and community referrals. WEN has continued to follow the mission of its founders and has played an important role in the professional growth of women in Kansas City.
“It is an honor to be a recipient of the Beth K. Smith Award this year,” Jones said. “I am incredibly passionate about this organization and its mission to empower women in Kansas City to reach their full potential, and I am grateful to continue to be an advocate for this amazing organization.”
