Peyton, a University of Missouri School of Law graduate, joined SBH in 2025. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for the Honorable W. Brent Powell at the Supreme Court of Missouri, where she drafted and edited opinions and authored memoranda on whether to issue extraordinary writs or grant applications for transfer.
Earlier in her career, Peyton was a paralegal for a legal aid organization in Missouri that provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals and families. During law school, she worked as a summer associate at a large law firm in St. Louis and completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Nanette K. Laughrey at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Peyton was also a teaching assistant, editor on Missouri Law Review, and a Board of Advocates member. She was awarded the Alexander Martin Prize for Best Work in Evidence and CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Civil Procedure I, Civil Procedure II, Lawyering, Legal Research & Writing, Advocacy & Research, Negotiation, Evidence, Deal Skills and Advanced Trial Practice.
Peyton’s diverse legal experience has given her a unique perspective and understanding of the legal profession. Through her work, she has developed a deep and extensive knowledge of the legal process from inception through completion while always utilizing a strategic mindset to achieve optimal results in all matters she handles.
