Practice Areas:

Personal Injury| Products Liability Defense | Professional Malpractice

Kayla joined SBH in 2024, bringing experience in personal injury, products liability, and professional malpractice. A graduate with honors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, Kayla began her career at a leading plaintiff’s firm, focusing on complex mass tort and antitrust litigation. Her experience advocating for plaintiffs gives her valuable insight into the strategies of Plaintiff’s attorneys, which she leverages to craft effective defenses for her clients.

During law school, Kayla served on the UMKC Law Review staff, as Membership Chair for the Association of Women Law Students, and as a tour guide for the Office of Admissions. Her academic excellence earned her CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Labor Law, Administrative Law, and Seminar in Famous Trials.

Kayla gained diverse legal experience through internships with the U.S. Department of Labor, a criminal defense practice, and a nationally recognized workers’ compensation firm. She also contributed to community initiatives, including the UMKC Expungement Clinic, which helps indigent Missourians seal their criminal records, and the UMKC Abandoned Housing Clinic, which works to restore abandoned properties in Kansas City’s urban core.
