Seyferth Blumenthal & Harris LLC is pleased to announce partners Paul Seyferth and Michael Blumenthal were recently selected as Legal Champions for the 2018 Missouri Lawyers Awards from Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
Seyferth and Blumenthal were recognized for their success in ending a long-running lawsuit with a national hospital chain over funding for hospitals in Kansas City’s urban core. The case spanned seven years of litigation and after appeal, was resolved for an amount exceeding $200 million.
“We congratulate Paul and Michael on this well-deserved honor,” said Kim Jones, Seyferth Blumenthal & Harris managing partner. “The team was recognized for a significant victory that demonstrates the caliber of our firm’s experience and service, but it was a bigger victory for hundreds of thousands of medically underserved people in the Kansas City community.”
The Missouri Lawyers Awards recognize lawyers who made an impact in the year just completed, including the winners of the top verdicts, influential appellate advocates and champions, law firm leaders and the lawyer of the year. The Legal champion awards are given to plaintiffs’ or defense lawyers, not based on the size of verdicts, but the importance of the principle or policy at stake.
Seyferth focuses on high-stakes and high-profile employment, healthcare and business litigation. He also represents several national law firms and other lawyers in malpractice and employment claims. Seyferth earned his law degree from the University of Michigan.
Blumenthal devotes his practice to representing management in workplace legal issues and representing businesses in high-stakes litigation. He is known as an aggressive and passionate trial lawyer and is often called upon by other lawyers to mediate and arbitrate their lawsuits. Blumenthal earned his law degree from the University of Kansas.
