Daniel Ramón Named Partner at Seyferth Blumenthal & Harris

Seyferth Blumenthal & Harris LLC is pleased to announce that attorney Daniel O. Ramón has been promoted to partner, effective Jan. 1.

“Danny joined our firm as a transplant from Austin, Texas, in 2016, and we have been excited to have him in Kansas City ever since,” said Kim Jones, Seyferth Blumenthal & Harris managing partner. “In that short time, he has quickly established deep roots not only in our law firm and with our clients but also in the Kansas City community. We appreciate the valuable counsel he provides to clients and colleagues, as well as the contributions he makes to protecting our law firm’s culture and business model.”

Ramón has the experience of a seasoned employment and civil litigation attorney. As one recent example, he obtained a rare dismissal of a National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) case on behalf of a local employer, and frequently achieves similar wins on behalf of the firm’s clients.

“I was originally attracted to the firm’s pursuit of efficient and creative solutions to clients’ business disputes, with an emphasis on collaboration, as well as its focus on providing counsel rather than billable hours,” Ramón said. “I’m excited and honored to be elected to the partnership of a firm with an innovative business model and look forward to growing the firm in the years ahead.”

Ramón concentrates his practice in employment law and general civil litigation, at the trial and appellate level. His experience covers a wide range of subject areas including: employment discrimination and retaliation lawsuits; enforcement of covenants not to compete; drafting of employee handbook and other agreements; and complex business disputes, including those involving trade secrets, contracts, fiduciary duties, and insurance litigation. He also counsels employers on compliance with state and federal statutes.

Ramón has a passion for remaining active in the community and is currently involved in the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce – Centurions Leadership Program (Class of 2019), where he was elected to the 2017-2018 Steering Committee, and serves on the Diversity & Inclusion Committee of the Mid-America Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. He previously completed the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s Art Leaders Program (Class of 2017) and the Mid-America Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce’s Barnes Leadership Series (Class of 2017).

Ramón also is past president of the Austin LGBT Bar Association, former director of the Austin Bar Association, and Vice Chair of the board of directors for Equality Texas, among numerous other community involvements.

Ramón earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law, with honors, and a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University.
